Customer Spotlight: Who Don't Hear Must Feel
Elroy Lewis is a Londoner who now lives in the Middle East, and Dolphin Music gear has helped him to create some dub-tastic sounds.
Who Don't Hear Must Fell is the name of Lewis' one-man musical project, and you can check his music on myspace.
It's an interesing mix of electronica with vibraphone sounds and hints of indie rock, thanks to sampling a tune by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Lewis talks about his gear:
"I've brought an US-122L, Pro Logic and recently purchased a pair of Sennheiser HD 280 Silver Headphones which are my favourites. I rock nothing else. The clarity of sound and warmth of bass that come out of the cans are unsurpassed do far. Also, in the process of buying the new MPC 5000 which I read in your 1st issue review"
"With regards to the US-122l, as a lover of a good bass groove, I can get Bass guitarist friends of mine to plug in and groove away to any beat I make on my Pro Logic ... [it] comes in handy when I'm in the mood to add a scratch or two and need to hook up my Technics. The fact that it's compatible with my Mac is all the better, the perfect interface.
"I make hip hop instrumentals a la Mantronix / Mark the 45 King / DJ Shadow, etc. "
Lewis says he's been making music for years, but only now decided to use Myspace to promote his music. On his page, he explains that he wnet previously under the alias 'Annie Annie Animals', and eleased 'Vibraphone' for the 1st time under that banner. "If you have a vinyl copy that I pressed up. Hold on to it. It might be a gem that will sell for a nice amount of dosh in the next couple of years." he says on his Myspace profile.
New single is to be released in middle January 'Regan, Carter, Bodie & Doyle' (Brixton Can Hear The Sirens Coming). He then plans a single every 3 - 4 months after that.
Lewis is taking a month out in middle January to spend a month in Madrid to hopefully get his juices flowing and "!inspire me to cook up some new beats as I'll bring everything that I use with me to Spain."
