Dolphin Music's Director Rob Williams Wins 'Young Director Of The Year' Award!

We are pleased to announce that Rob Williams, one of Dolphin Music's directors, was the winner of the Young Director Of The Year Award (Liverpool) at this prestigious ceremony.

Rob Williams, commented: "It was a wonderful and unexpected award during what has been a great year for Dolphin Music. To be recognised by the IoD particularly with our recent appointment of a board of directors is very re-assuring to our business plans."

More than 600 of the North West's business elite gathered together on the 18th September for the Institute of Directors' annual Director of the Year Awards ceremony, sponsored by Yorkshire Bank.

Sports presenter, Gabby Logan, hosted the awards at the City of Manchester Stadium, where the winners were announced. Speeches were also given by Mile Templeman, director General of the IoD and Brian Colquhoun, Regional Director of Yorkshire Bank.

This year's overall winner was Steve Corcoran of Speedy Hire Plc scooping the coveted North West Director of the Year. For the first time, an overall North West Young Director of the Year award was awarded to Imran Hakim of iTeddy.

Darrell Matthews, Regional Director of the IoD in the North West, commented: "This is the fifth year we have run the awards and it has been fantastic to be reminded of the impressive expertise and range of industries we have here in the North West, especially in such economically turbulent times. The number of nominations has been a record this year and every individual was of an exceptionally high calibre. The winners and finalists are all well deserved and are true examples of the talent that exists in our region. We look forward to identifying even more of the region's top leaders at next year's awards."

When choosing the winners, the judges were looking at the following criteria:

Vision - What is their vision of the future of the company over the next 3-5 years and how do they intend to drive their business forward?

Challenges - What do they feel are the greatest challenges they face as a director and how do they face these challenges?

Corporate Social Responsibility - How does their organisation interact with the society in which they are operating in and how seriously do they consider CSR issues?

Industry and Community involvement - What is the individual director involved with on a personal basis to help shape the industry? Are they involved at all with their local communities, charities, external organisations, etc?

Culture - How do they work with the people in their organisations and what is their approach to company culture, staff training and welfare, etc?

Corporate Governance - The use of non-executive directors and compliance with Higgs will be considered, together with the individual director's view of the usefulness of NED's.

Achievements - What does the individual director consider to be their greatest achievement over the last two years?

Company Performance - How has the individual director contributed to the success, growth and profitability of their organisation? Has the company seen increased sales, profit and market share under the direction of the individual?
