The award for Best Electric Guitar at the MIA Awards last week went to an appreciative Fender, for its Classic Player Baja Telecaster.
The award was sponsored by Guitarist magazine and voted for by MI retailers.
General manager of Fender GBI, Graeme Mathieson commented: “We’re delighted to win the award. The guitar is part of a range that has been enormously successful for us.
It’s another twist on a classic design and it represents fantastic value for money. We’ve got another range coming out in January at NAMM and we think that it will be an even bigger success than this one.”
Special features of the Classic Player Baja Telecaster include a soft V-shaped neck, custom pickups with four-way switching, knurled chrome knobs and "Custom Shop Designed" neckplate.
