Dolphin Music @ Go Green Event, Gateshead
Last weekend's Go Green event at the MetroCentre, Gateshead was a big success. Dolphin provided the music - played with recicled instruments! - and even the gnomes danced!
The environmentally friendly exhibition, which took place from Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th September, aimed to show just how easy it is to go green!
MetroCentre had a host of environmentally friendly ideas on offer, from tips on household energy and money saving, to recycling, transport and the environment.
MetroCentre also invited shoppers to show their commitment to helping the environment in the future, by making a pledge and placing into one of the dedicated wheelie bins located in Town Square, for transport, energy, nature or recycling, depending on the nature of their pledge.
A number of exhibitors were on hand to provide advice and ideas including; The Energy Savings Trust, Gateshead Council, Ecocabs and The National Trust as well as a number of MetroCentre retailers who displayed their most energy efficient and environmentally friendly products.
House of Fraser showcased a selection of fashion and home products made from organic materials, and consultants from Aveda and Origins were on hand with naturally inspired and organic beauty products to show how you can look after your most important environment – your body!
Lush displayed their handmade products made from natural ingredients and, last but not least, Dolphin Music provided musical entertainment using recycled items as instruments! Once again, Mr. Barry Jackson displayed his considerable flute skills and made even the gnomes dance!
