Coming Soon! The Edge, Jimmy Page and Jack White Starring In A Guitar-Themed Film!
Sounds like a legendary film in the making! The forthcoming documentary film, “It Might Get Loud,” is already generating considerable buzz among music fans and guitar players...
Jimmy Page & Jack White |
First screened in May at the Cannes Film Festival, the movie officially premieres this September at the Toronto International Film Festival.
According to a press release, the movie “revolves around a singular day when Jimmy Page, the Edge, and Jack White first met and sat down together to share their stories, teach, and play.”
Led Zeppelin's Page, U2's the Edge and White, leader of the White Stripes and the Raconteurs, were chosen for their impact across three different generations - from Page's 1960s days as a session musician and a member of the Yardbirds into the Edge's unique sound developed in the '80s through White's current work.
The film - which was directed by Davis Guggenheim (who won an Academy Award for his direction of Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth”) - is said to “capture the guitarists as each explains and demonstrates how he changed the sound of the electric guitar to suit his own distinctive musical style.”
In one scene, as the guitarists banter with one another about their influences, Page pulls out a Link Wray album, the Edge pulls out an album by the Sex Pistols, and White pulls out an album by the Flat Duo Jets.
We wonder if besides initerviews, the film also shows rare or never-seen-before archive footage of Page, White and The Edge playing with their respective bands - that would be simply amazing...but no further info about the film content as of yet.
No word yet on whether the film will see a full-fledged theatrical release, but we eagerly await its release!
