Bert Jansch and Pentangle back out on the road.

Forget Cream…or Led Zeppelin, this is the biggie: Pentangle is reforming” – The Guardian (19 January 2007)

Formed in swinging ‘60s London, Pentangle were one of the most exciting and innovative groups in the world, genuinely pushing boundaries and exploring new musical avenues. Simultaneously stars of the underground and darlings of the mainstream, they enjoyed an unprecedented degree of worldwide success for an acoustic band and their influence and musical impact is still revered and relevant today. Pentangle have reformed and are back on tour.

On the 40th anniversary of unique British folk/jazz 'supergroup' Pentangle recording the live disc of their seminal double album Sweet Child at London’s Royal Festival Hall, the original band: Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Jacqui McShee, Danny Thompson and Terry Cox, return to the Festival Hall to celebrate their legacy. That unique show quickly sold out, and the band announced a second date in London and a UK tour. Now, fresh from their first TV appearance together for 35 years, on Later with Jools Holland on April 29, Pentangle – still a supergroup today – are delighted to announce they will complete their tour with a headline appearance at the famous Green Man Festival in South Wales on Sunday 17 August.

Bert Jansch’s relationship with Yamaha goes back to the early ‘70s when he started playing an FG-1500 - a guitar he played on many of his classic albums, including LA Turnaround, and which he still has today - in fact it has been brought back into service, alongside his LL-11E, especially for the upcoming Pentangle tour.  From the FG-1500 Bert moved onto L Series hand crafted guitars, of which his main guitar was and still is the LL-11E.

Bert also has many other Yamaha guitars: APX guitars, a CGX-171CC classical guitar, the SLG-100S silent guitar and even an FG Junior (which his friend Bernard Butler liked so much Bert bought one for him)!  In 2003 Yamaha presented Bert with a custom made L Series model for his 60th birthday.
