Yamaha Gigs and Tunes - June
Here's a round up of the new releases and live performances from Yamaha artists. This month we have a Glastonbury Special and news of one of the most eagerly awaited releases of the year.
Yamaha in your ears!
Coldplay – Viva La Diva Or Death And All His Friends
At last it’s here - Coldplay are about to release their latest album and those in the know say it is mighty fine. They’ve already caused a stir with their first single which was offered as a free download. More than 1.5 million people have taken up the offer which kicks off a marketing campaign to include many more surprises.
We at Yamaha have had a longstanding relationship with the band. At 15 years old Chris Martin was one of the winners of a songwriting competition that we ran, and today he helps judge our songwriting awards scheme – Make It Break It. Chris plays Yamaha pianos on the tour and Will Champion has just taken delivery of a special Yamaha drum kit. More news on that in a later edition of the Round Up.
The Fratellis – Here We Stand
If the new single Mistress Mabel is anything to go by the Fratellis have raised the bar with this their second album. Mince Fratelli is currently using a Yamaha Birch Custom kit.
The Subways – All or Nothing
The Subways have joined forces with producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth). Expect an exciting progression from their last album ‘Young for Eternity’ with uplifting hooks and those signature guitar riffs.
