KURZWEIL PC3X READIES TO SHIP
Kurzweil is readying to ship the much-anticipated new PC3X workstation. At the recent NAMM Show in California the company showed the PC3x together with brand new editing software that will ship with it. A preview of the PC3 (76-note semi-weighted version) was also on display.
Featuring multiple new state-of-the-art Kurzweil MARA DSP chips, a new synthesis engine called Dynamic V.A.S.T., and with the VA-1 Virtual Analogue engine also included, the PC3x is a powerhouse of a workstation.
Under new ownership by Hyundai Corporation and with Ray Kurzweil back as Chief Strategy Officer, Kurzweil is set to make a huge impact with redesigns of its entire product range.
The recently released SP2X Stage Piano, the first product to feature the company's new MARA DSP chip, has received superb reviews and earned the 2008 Editor's Choice Award from Electronic Musician magazine.
The PC3x is expected to ship in the UK in early March priced at £1799 RRP inc VAT.
