96 Channel Upgrade For UK’s Largest Independent Radio Station

Radio Clyde, the UK’s largest independent radio station, has completed the upgrading of their outside broadcast facility with two TASCAM X48 multitracking recorders. The class leading recorders are to be used for the recording of bands in both festival and studio situations. Utilising both recorders together gives the possibility of recording an amazing 96 discreet channels of 24/96 audio simultaneously, a fact important to Radio Clydes recording and mixing engineer – Isla Cruckshank –
“We discussed several different solutions for the recording requirements we had, but the only solution that ticked all of the boxes was the Tascam X48’s. Nothing else could provide the same track count and reliability and that’s not even taking into account the speed of use and connectivity these units have given us.
