Apple iLife ‘05 - five applications working brilliantly together!
Getting better all the time, iLife ‘05 introduces major new versions of your favorite media applications. And each of them offers outstanding new features, letting you have even more fun with your photos, movies, and music in 2005.
Apple iPhoto 5
Take iPhoto 5. From importing to organizing to editing to sharing, you’ll find seriously cool improvements. iPhoto 5 supports the RAW photo format and lets you import video clips, too. Hierarchical folders, Calendar View, and an iTunes-like search field help you organize and find photos in a snap. The new Advanced Editing dashboard can help you make your photos picture perfect. You’ll also want to try iPhoto’s fully customizable, cinematic slideshows. And, the pièce de résistance, our new softcover books (available in three sizes): c’est magnifique.
Apple iMovie HD
The name gives away the surprise. iMovie HD now supports the latest video formats: High-definition Video (HDV), 16:9 Widescreen DV, and MPEG-4 flash video. Still as easy to use as ever, iMovie HD boasts dramatically improved performance, so you can tackle even the most complex projects. Want to edit smarter? Now you can do all your editing in the Timeline. Even rearrange clips. And wait till you try Magic iMovie: plug in your camcorder, and iMovie HD will automatically create a complete movie for you—even burning it to DVD if you want.
Apple iDVD 5
iDVD 5 makes it easier than ever to share your creativity. To get you started, iDVD 5 offers even more Hollywood-style themes. Spectacular, they include animated drop zones that move around the screen while displaying your photos, video, and music. You also enjoy more options for importing digital content and improved editing tools: like the Drop Zone Editor and the editable DVD Map. OneStep DVD offers a one-click tape-to-DVD solution. And with iDVD and your SuperDrive-equipped Mac, you can now burn DVDs to almost any available media, including DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, and DVD+RW.
Apple GarageBand 2
In its encore performance, GarageBand 2 delivers big time, offering multi-track recording. In fact, GarageBand 2 lets you record up to 8 real instruments and one software track at once. GarageBand 2 also provides real-time Music Notation, and it includes an Instrument Tuner, so guitarists and bassists can tune up before recording. With new tools, you can enhance timing, tightening up the rhythm of guitar, bass, and vocals; and tuning enhancements let you fix out-of-tune notes. You can also save your own recorded performances as Apple Loops to use in other projects.
Apple iTunes 4.7.1
We also just released iTunes 4.7.1, which you’ll need if you want to Autofill iPod shuffle with a fresh supply of your favorite tunes. The conduit for iPod photo, iTunes 4.7.1 lets you sync your photo collection and make your slideshows to go. Lend an ear: iTunes lets you share your music library (including your own GarageBand creations) with iPhoto, iMovie HD, and iDVD. Everyone’s favorite digital jukebox, iTunes is also the world’s number one music download store. In fact, we’ve just made our iTunes Essentials even better than they were before. Go see.
