  1. XiosynthThis is a synthesizer/midi controller/USB interface that works great for home recording, studio work and live work as well. You can plug it straight into the P.A. system, or use the USB included to power the unit and integrate it with music production software. The sounds built into the unit are fantastic, endorsed from such artists as Roots Manuva, and you can alter them and add effects to your hearts content. There's XLR and line inputs, and it can provide 48v phantom power for condenser microphones too. Its available in 25 and 49 key versions, and works well with all the main DAW's (the midi controller even includes templates for Cubase, Logic, Sonar, Ableton and Reason!). Its a portable recording and live solution in one, every musician should have one!
  2. Nord Stage 88 - The Nord Stage 88 is fantastic for musicians who just want an amazing piano and organ sounds immediately at the press of a button. Simple enough for the beginner, yet offering the flexibility for tweaking sounds for the professional, The Stage 88 really needs to be played to be truly appreciated. Its also really light, making it ideal for musicians on the go. also includes a great effects processor and midi connectivity.
  3. M-Audio Project Mix - This FireWire interface is a one-for-all solution for people who like to use different recording programs on the same system (like myself!). It features 8 high-quality mic pre-amps, touch-sensitive motorized faders, navigation controls for your DAW and 2 separate headphone outputs, and best of all, its at a great price! Works with Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic and Ableton, and features plenty of navigation controls for moving round your sequencer quickly and easily. A great buy for the any producer!

Having worked as a Pro Musician with several different bands and projects back in Portugal, Paulo developed a great knowledge in the Acoustic and Electronic Drums and Percussion department. Besides playing in his own bands, also worked as a freelance musician within the most different styles, such as Symphony Orchestra, Big Band, Rock, Pop, Latin, Brazilian, Funk, Pop, R&B, among others. Paulo can fluently speak 4 different languages which include Portuguese, English, Spanish and French. The knowledge acquired over the years allows Paulo to advise anyone within his areas of expertise from the beginner to the pro musician.

Paulo says “When I first arrived in the UK, my goal was to be able to work with a strong and respectable music related company. At Dolphin Music I found myself surrounded by other musicians that just like me work hard everyday to be able to help others like us that sometimes found themselves with hundreds of doubts. We have all been there, and now with a great staff, Dolphin can actually supply their customers with expert and helpful advice to their customers. It has been a great experience.”

  1. Roland TD 20K - This is the absolute best electronic drum kit ever. Besides playing one I also owned it. The sensitivity, the feel, the sounds, the playability are awesome. I have used it for drum teaching at home, for live playing and studio recording and the results were just superb. After 14 years playing acoustic drum kits, have to take my hat off to Roland for such a superb product, alongside with all of the V-Drums line.
  2. Mackie SRM 450 active speakers - These speakers are superb. Playing with my band in an Irish Pub back in Portugal, 7 days a week, 4 hours a night….and they never ever had a problem. The power, the sound projection and definition are brilliant and powerful, yet with out being aggressive. With this price/quality relation they are with a shadow of a doubt the best set of speakers around, whether you want to use them for front of the house P.A or as stage monitors.
  3. Mackie 1604-VLZ 3 Mixer - Mackie have done it again…Amazing mixer, with just about everything that you need to play live or even do some home recording. The pre-amps are just great with lots of head room, the EQ is great, shame about the length of the faders, as I was used to the Soundcraft E12 that has 100mm faders but…Mackie’s are very precise. In’s, out’s, inserts, phantom power, balanced outputs…the works. Like Mackie so well put it… A legend perfected. 10 out of 10 in my book.

Music has always played an important part in Andrew's life since he started learning the piano when he was 8. From here he went on to gain grade 8 on Tenor Saxophone as well as learning to play bass guitar. He has played in a vast array of groups throughout his music career ranging from big bands to concert bands as well as playing in local ska/punk bands and metal bands.

Before joining the Dolphin Music team Andrew attended Oxford Brookes University, gaining a 2:1 in Music before moving to Liverpool to achieve a Masters in Popular Music Studies at the Institute of Popular Music.

Andrew currently plays in several bands alongside working for Dolphin Music and says “It's exciting to work for such a fast expanding company within the music industry and have the opportunity to learn personally at the same time. In addition to this Dolphin Music comprises of a great team of people who are knowledgeable and approachable and are always willing to do their best for the customer.”

  1. Musicman Stingray-4 3EQ - The Musicman Stingray is a bass that I have always wanted to own and have often been found drooling over. It's a fabulous looking bass guitar and with a great reputation throughout the bass world. It is no surprise then that many well known bassists have at some point used a Stingray whether it be live or recorded with notable bassists such as Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers having used one for length period. The Stingray is perfect bass if you want to play fast, punchy bass lines with your fingers or a plectrum, or if you want to slap your way silly playing some pure funk. Wear it high or wear it low, people will always notice you playing this gorgeous bass and you'll always be happy to plug in and play.
  2. Creative Zen Vision:M 60GB - Whilst others champion the Ipod, the Creative Zen Vision:M, in my own personal opinion, is the best competitor on the market challenging Apple's Video Ipod. As well as being able to play a wide selection of different music files (such as wav, mp3, mp4) it also accepts a greater range of different video files and codecs than the Ipod, saving you time on converting video files. In addition, whilst the Video Ipod can play a video for 2 hours and Creative Zen:M can play video up to 4 hours allowing you to watch any of the Lord of the Rings film without having to charge in between, due to a better, longer lasting battery. With a massive 60GB you can upload thousands of songs and hours of video onto one player and then have the choice of hooking it to a stereo to play your music on or, through the use of a Creative AV Cable, you can attach it to your TV and watch your videos on the big screen. So whether you want an MP3 player or an MP4 player the Creative Zen Vision:M gives you the best of both worlds without you following the herd.
  3. Yamaha YTS275 Tenor Saxophone - So you want to play an instrument that oozes pure sax appeal and makes music that will make people go weak at the knees? If the answer is yes, then the Tenor Saxophone is for you. The Yamaha YTS275 is the perfect Tenor Saxophone to get any person interested in playing started and on the road to playing some funky tunes or some soulful melodies. Allowing you to go that little bit higher than standard saxophones with its high F# key and finished in a gold lacquer, this saxophone not only sounds great, it looks great too. Don't be put off by how heavy a Tenor Saxophone is, as by purchasing a Neotech neck strap this reduces the wight put on you and makes the saxophone feel lighter therefore reducing any neck pain or fatigue, result! Overall the Yamaha YTS275 is a great saxophone you would never regret owning and, bought with a Neotech Strap, you'll feel nothing but great playing it.
