The Taylor booth was the talk of the NAMM Show once again, as they unveiled their brand new 2007 model lineup. For the first time, Taylor launched three distinct guitar categories: acoustic/electric, acoustic, and electric. Two other big launches also won-over dealers and visitors: the all-new 100 and 200 Series and a killer new T5 12-string. Here’s a recap of the 2007 Taylor Product Lineup, which you can order now from Dolphin Music.
Acoustic Guitars
The new Acoustic category is created following the huge success of the GS pure acoustic launched in 2006. The Acoutic category promotes Taylor to the non-electro customer, desigend to generate new business. The new range of 20 acoustics all follow the simple styling and pricing system of the GS - clean, simple styling, with identical pricing based solely on wood combination. New product codes are created for this category defining the four available body shapes: DN (Dreadnought), GA (Grand Auditorium), GC (Grand Concert), GS (Grand Symphony)
• A complete line of acoustic guitars, anchored by the hugely successful GS
• 20 NEW satin and glossy models in Grand Auditorium (GA), Grand Concert (GC), and Dreadnought (DN) Series each with styling based on the GS
• Optional Expression System® pickup available on all acoustic models

Acoustic/Electric Guitars
Taylor owns the acoustic/electric market, and critically this line-up and pricing remains largely unchanged. This allows existing business to continue with the new Acoustic category providing all-new business. The existing product codes (eg. 314ce) continue to be used on the CE models so as not to devalue products or disrupt the market. Some minor aesthetic updates are made to some models.
• The flagship of the Taylor line, featuring our best selling “ce” models
• All models feature the 2007 Expression System, plus:
- upgraded plastic binding and bound fretboards on 300 and 400 Series
- abalone rosettes on 500 and 700 Series
- maple binding on 800 Series
- Gotoh 510 tuners and bone nut/saddle on 900 Series
The 100 and 200 Series models have been revised with a much improved aesthetic look. A Grand Auditorium shape is added to the 100 Series, 200 Series gains laminate rosewood back and sides and white binding and is now very aggressively priced.
Electric Guitars
Taylor also have created a new Electric category. Currently this category features just two models - the T5 and the newly announced T5- 12 string.
• Anchored by the “Electric Guitar of the Year”, the T5
• New 12-string T5, available in all Standard and Custom models
- innovative compensated saddle “levels” fundamental and octave strings
- solves the playing challenges electric 12-strings traditionally pose
• Koa, cocobolo, rosewood, or walnut top options on select T5 models
