Samson MS200 Heavy-Duty Studio Monitor Stands (Pair) Reviews
Bought these to go with my Alesis M1 Active MK2's. I tested these stands with other things such as my CDJ400, CDJ800 and my Numark DXM09 mixer. Everything i tried with these stands sits on top very nicely despite the surface of the stands being 6inch by 6 1/2 inches. It seems the heavier the item on these stands the better as it becomes more stable. When these stands are used at minimum height with near-field monitors such as the Alesis M1 Active MK2's I find they are at perfect height to have the tweater level with your ears when sat at a desk. I would certainly recommend these stands to anybody.
First of all, i would like to thank the Dolphin Music company & staff for providing great reliable & fast service!
One of the few sites with just about everything you need for music production & recording and the delivery service is fast and reliable not forgetting the excellent customer service.
Right, now thats done lets get to the point!
I am a DJ and i have a project studio set up, i bought the samson resolve 2.1 monitor system(...from dolpin music of course) and needed monitor stands which was at a reaonable price because i know that some stands can get past the £100 mark and wanted to avoid spending that kind of money as i have spent a few bob(a lot) of money on my music equipment.
These monitors definitely are more than a reasonable price and is very easy to set up, which only took up to twenty minutes because i spent time making sure i installed the carpet spikes in properly. The construction is quite good with its own presets of adjustments that would suit you best, they also offer good support and do make a difference in the clarity of sound.
As you know every good thing has a bad thing and the bad thing in these stands are the plates, i think they should have been bigger so you can place the monitors in a near-field position on them. I still place my monitors in a near-field position on my stands (lol!) but these plates are much better if you use them with your monitors standing up which i think your supposed to but when did DJ\'s ever play by the rules!
Brilliant pair of monitors for the price which many advantages such as sound clarity, price, preset adjustments and disadvantages such as the plates are not that big in size but i have to say overall i am very happy with my purchase as it is perfect for project & home studios.
Thanks for reading my review!
I hope you enjoyed it!!
all I can say about these is first look at the price.fantastic quality monitor stands for less than £60.
they fit together very well very firm built
they can be height adjusted very easy and have a bar stop to put in so they stay up ..
if I had to pick a fault with them it would be the top plate it could be bigger don't get me wrong they hold on some alesis monitor one mk2s
on with out any problem but I would of liked the plates to be bigger ,
the plates have stick on rubber feet triangles that hold the speakers by the way the speakers the heavier the better as the weight seems to help hold them on
the stands them selves look great and only help to make my studio to look better and also help to free up space as now the monitors do not need to be on the computer desk..
if you have just bought some new monitors one are going to give these a good thought as they can position the speakers so they are the right high for maximum sound quality
all in all great value great price.
